Most of us are taught that good work speaks for itself — Stanford professor Jeffrey Pfeffer's research says that's a myth, and that understanding how power actually works in organizations is what separates people who get promoted from people who just get praised.

In this session, Manny will share practical lessons from Pfeffer's "Building Power to Lead" course alongside real-world experience building influence as a cybersecurity executive, with a focus on what actually moves the needle on visibility, advancement, and pay. You'll leave with concrete, usable tactics for building influence and accelerating your career — no matter your role or title.
