About
CompTIA is the non-profit trade association advancing the global interests of information technology (IT) professionals and companies including manufacturers, distributors, resellers, and educational institutions. Since 1982 CompTIA has supported and led the global IT industry through educational programs, market research, networking events, professional certifications, and political advocacy. CompTIA is member driven and is led by an elected board of industry professionals. All proceeds are directly reinvested in programs and initiatives that benefit our valued members and the industry as a whole. CompTIA also gives back to the industry through the CompTIA Educational Foundation, which provides education and training to individuals under-represented in the IT industry, such as at-risk youth, dislocated workers, disabled workers, and veterans transitioning out of the military. CompTIA is known worldwide as the leading provider of vendor-neutral IT certifications. CompTIA certifications identify IT professionals who prove their aptitude in various fields, such as security, network administration, computer repair, and server administration. CompTIA has a global reach, serving members from offices in Australia, Canada, China, Germany, India, Japan, South Africa, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
As the leading charity of CompTIA, the world’s largest IT industry association, Creating IT Futures opens doors to the possibilities in technology. Every day we provide opportunities for youth and adults to learn, grow and thrive as technologists of the future. We create on-ramps for people to prepare for, secure and succeed in IT careers. We particularly encourage an IT path for populations that traditionally have been under-represented in the information technology workforce, such as women, people of color and veterans.
TechGirlz is a nonprofit program of Creating IT Futures, a 501(c)3 nonprofit of CompTIA, that inspires middle school girls to explore the possibilities of technology to empower their future careers. TechGirlz is accomplishing its mission through the creation of free, fun, interactive “TechShopz” led by industry professionals, community leaders, and students. We share our free workshop curriculum with companies, organizations, schools and community groups so they can inspire girls around the world with technology. Our vision is to create a world where girls have a lifelong passion and confidence in their use of technology throughout their careers.
