With the exponential increase in the need for compliant remote access and “working from home”, organizations are struggling to manage remote access, the associated legal and regulatory obligations and their increased attack surface.  Additionally regulators, for the most part, have not given any indication that organizations are relieved from fulfilling their legal and compliance obligations during a time of pandemic.  In this session, TCDI and Smith Anderson will review common threats and pitfalls, and discuss how to leverage existing infrastructure to make your team better prepared to manage risk and implement compliant organizations – when everyone is working remotely

Bogdan Salamakha, Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, TCDI

Bogdan is an experienced cybersecurity professional who helps protect companies from cyber threats, comply with regulations, test security controls, and gain assurance in their information security. He serves as a cybersecurity subject matter expert in penetration testing and conducts research in cybersecurity through the reverse engineering of malware. In addition, Bogdan conducts evaluations of attackers’ activities through systems designed to monitor controlled systems

Joseph Dickinson, Partner - Smith Anderson Blount Dorsett Mitchell and Jernigan

Joseph Dickinson is a partner with Smith Anderson Blount Dorsett Mitchell and Jernigan and leads the firms Data Use, Privacy and Security Group. Mr. Dickinson is an experienced data privacy, security, and management attorney with more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare and technology industries in both legal and technical capacities. He focuses on data security, cyber risk, and privacy issues. As both a lawyer and former programmer, Joseph is adept at helping clients unravel complex systems to fully understand legal and regulatory risk. Prior to joining Smith Anderson Mr. Dickinson served as the Chief Privacy Officer and Chief Information Security Officer at a large academic medical center in Cleveland, OH.
