Role Value Proposition:
Expense Management provides best-in-class IT Financial Transparency to MetLife IT and Business Partners alike through best-in-class financial enterprise standards. Making MetLife's IT the most efficient through financial awareness and empowerment. This enables the Business to make effective strategic decisions that maximize its return on its IT investments. This Expense Management role serves an integral part supporting the Global Security, Architecture & Tech Enablement forecasting and billing. Engaging directly with project managers, engineers, business analyst and vendors to manage the expense.
Key Responsibilities:
- Forecasts monthly expenses for Global Security, Architecture, and Tech Enablement
- Builds annual budgets, ensuring alignment with departmental goals budget.
- Accountable for coordinating and tracking the delivery of IT savings initiatives within the respective departments supported.
- Accountable for IT expense approvals and facilitation of purchase requestions within supported departments.
- Prepares and presents monthly financial reporting packages
- Develop financial models and analyses to support cost saving/growth of the business & strategic initiatives.
- Prepare journal entry support for expense reclassification, aligning material costs with project budgets and general ledger accounts.
- Develop and accrue expenses and ensure accurate recognition within appropriate accounting periods, coordinating with procurement and project teams.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- Typically requires 3+ years of experience in financial reporting and/ or accounting.
- BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
- Must be able to communicate information clearly and effectively.
- Must meet established deadlines on a continual basis.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to learn financial reporting systems.
- Support reporting and analysis requirements for financial reports and disclosures.
Preferred:
- Financial modeling experience.
- Apptio experience.
