MetLife is the leading insurance provider. The MetLife Holdings organization is looking for a Software Engineer in a full-stack developer capacity. Full Stack Software Development engineer's role is to provide design, engineering, and implementation support. In this role, you will interact with the Agile Delivery Team, Business and IT Leaders, and IT partners, providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle. Focus will include solution design, security, development, debugging, and production support. Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in design discussions and provide technical support to application developers and operations support staff. This includes promoting use of best practices, ensuring standardization across applications, and troubleshooting.
- Implement integration solutions through collaboration with engineers and application teams across the global enterprise.
- Promote and utilize automation to design and support configuration management, orchestration, and maintenance of the integration platforms using tools and scripts such as Ansible, Python, PowerShell, and Linux shell.
- Investigate, recommend, implement, and maintain document generation solutions across technologies.
- Learn new technologies and develop automation scripts in collaboration with senior engineers.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of distributed systems development with some of the following: Java, Java Spring Boot, JavaScript, React/Angular/Web Components, NodeJS, and RestAPI services.
- Experience in building application infrastructures.
- Experience with SQL-similar relational databases.
- Working knowledge of building, deploying and maintaining web applications utilizing Web servers, Application servers, and Database servers.
- Experience with agile methodologies, and tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps.
- Ensuring secure, high code quality across the project.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with focused attention to details, as well as, demonstrated professionalism and time/task management skills; ability to establish strong relationships.
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of AKS, Azure, Docker, and Synapse.
- Experience with API Design & Development (Microservices, Springboot, Java, REST, NodeJS).
- Experience in test-first practices, including Test Drive Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
- Knowledge of managing Continuous Delivery Pipeline using tools like Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub, and Artifactory.
- Design experience utilizing Use Cases, Features, and User Stories.
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure tools.
- Hands-on experimentation with prompt engineering, semantic search, and GenAI
- Exposure to modern AI concepts such as generative AI, various models of machine learning, large language models, conversational AI (chatbot, etc.) as well involvement in older concepts like automation, robotics, and scripting.
- SAFe Agile certification.

The salary range for applicants for this position is $75,000 - $95,000. Benefits We Offer
