Position Description:
Kramden Institute is a 501(c)(3) whose mission is advancing equitable access to devices, connectivity, and technology education. Since our founding in 2003, we have refurbished and awarded over 58,000 computers to 83 of North Carolina’s 100 counties. Kramden also offers a wide range of educational programs, aimed at teaching students and members of the community basic and advanced computer literacy skills through which to better their lives.
Kramden is looking for qualified applicants for a part-time Warehouse Technician (WT) position to start immediately. The WT will interact with both volunteers and staff to help fulfill the mission. The position will be responsible for assisting with the hardware refurbishing process. The work is performed in-person in Durham. This position is grant funded and will start as early as May 2025. It is planned for 6-12 months.

Principal Job Duties:
● Deploy software in Linux, MacOS and Windows environments
● Refurbish computers for programmatic use
● Assist and interface with volunteers during events and workdays
● Assist in warehouse organization
● Maintain clean and efficient workspace for volunteers and staff alike

Administrative:
● Inventory management and assessment via inventory management software
● Attend staff meetings and work with other members of staff including leadership
● Attend Technical/Operations meetings

Employment Requirements:
● Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience
● Flexible schedule
● Knowledge of Windows and Linux deployment practices
● Extensive knowledge, skills and familiarity with computer hardware, software and troubleshooting
● Ability to lift 50 lbs. often and repeatedly
● A criminal background check
● A valid driver’s license

Salary and Benefits:
● Hourly Pay: $18
● Approximately 30 hours per week between the hours of 9AM-5PM M-F
